The poetry of Tom Snarsky

All My Titles Suck Anyway

I was feeling overwhelmed
by sociality so I went for a walk
but there were so many people outside

My heart felt like accidental daggers
had found four sheaths in its valves

I want to write a poem like asphalt
one that gets stepped on and run over
but never says anything, only breaks
and everyone complains about the patch
job, says we should just start over

and do it right this time

Too Tired for Art Sorry

You can be sad & in love at the same time

It is ok to be tired

Asking the wind to go easy on you won’t do

Much, but might as well try

Before the plovers fly south

For the winter do they do that I don’t know

It’s just so heavy

This bag of severed hearts

& the worst part is I’m not carrying it alone
