Do you add anything to spell damage?
When attacking with a weapon, you add your ability modifier—the same modifier used for the attack roll—to the damage. A spell tells you which dice to roll for damage and whether to add any modifiers. In most cases, however, spells do not require the addition of your spellcasting ability to their damage.
How does spellpower work in BFA?
Spell power is an attribute that increases the effect of spells. Spell power increases the damage amount of damaging spells and the healing amount of healing spells. Your bonus damage and bonus healing from spell power do not usually apply directly to a spell.
How is spell power calculated Wow?
Spell power adds damage scaled by 3.5 seconds (without applying talents). So in this case Starfire gets 100% damage bonus from spell power (since its casting time is 3.5 seconds), meaning if you have for example +100 spell power your Starfire will hit by 100 more damage.

Do you use a spell slot if you miss?
The slot is spent when you cast the spell. Whether the spell hits or misses, or whether or not anyone makes their saving throw against it, the spell has still been cast.
What is spell attack?
A spell attack basically decides if the spell attack hits the target. It’s different from spell saving throws in that it depends less on the target’s ability to dodge, and more on how well your character can aim. It can apply to ranged spells or melee spells, as long as you use a spell attack.
What is the spell modifier?
Your spell attack modifier is your spellcasting ability modifier (which depends on which ability your class uses) plus your proficiency bonus. For example, a Level 1 Wizard whose Intelligence modifier is +3 would have an attack modifier of +5 (because Lv. 1 characters have a +2 proficiency bonus to start with).
What is a spell DC?
Spell DC is a property of all spells, but usually only comes into play when the spell has a saving throw. You see saving throws mostly on spells that do not have an attack roll. These spells usually automatically hit, but give the target a chance to overcome some or all of the spells effects by making a saving throw.
Can you cast a spell as a bonus action?
You can‘t cast a bonus action cantrip if you cast a leveled spell as an action. Turns and Rounds are different things, so if you bonus action Healing word, then on another creature’s turn it casts a spell and you want cast Shield or Counterspell you absolutely can.
